My Transparency Pledge
Public service is a public trust. Our County Mayor has made great strides in transparency, but that same standard must be upheld by every commissioner.
While I cannot control the actions of others, I can guarantee my own conduct.
As your Commissioner, I pledge the following to the citizens of District 3:
- The “At-the-Table” Standard: I will not participate in “hallway huddles”, stairwell caucuses, or any informal gatherings designed to reach agreements outside of public view. If an issue is worth discussing among commissioners, I will discuss it at the table, on the record, where you can hear it.
Decisions made in the open. - A “Listen First” Commitment: I commit to being accessible. You will have my contact info front-and-center on my website, business cards and social media—not buried on a government directory—because I want to hear from you.
I return calls. - Keeping You Informed: You shouldn’t have to dig for information. I’ll provide updates on major upcoming agenda items and recap the key decisions that impact District 3. I will share the reasoning behind my votes—for or against.
You’ll always know why. - Accountability: I’ll be your eyes and ears on the Commission, applying common‑sense scrutiny I throughout my career. My decisions will be based upon sound logic and reason to protect your tax dollars—not on political favors or backroom deals.
Decisions based on reason – not politics. - A Commitment to the Sunshine Law: I will strictly adhere to the letter and the spirit of the Tennessee Sunshine Law. I believe that open government is good government, and I will conduct myself with the honesty and openness that our community deserves.
Sunshine, not secrecy.
