Why I’m Running for County Commissioner
Professional Experience. Local Values.
A Servant’s Heart.
I’m running for District 3 County Commissioner because Cumberland County deserves principled leadership—leadership that balances growth with fiscal discipline, protects our quality of life, and delivers essential services efficiently.
Experience That Actually Fits the Job
My career wasn’t built in an office—it was built with boots in the dirt. For over 30 years in engineering and planning, I’ve managed multi-million-dollar infrastructure projects (including budgets up to $1.2 billion) and led large teams to success.
In public-sector work, the taxpayers were always my boss—I answered directly to the public, listened to their concerns and delivered solutions they could be proud of. That’s the same accountability I’ll bring to county government.
Fiscal Responsibility
All county government services—from roads and water systems to law enforcement, emergency response, solid waste management, and public education—are funded exclusively by taxpayers. Cumberland County doesn’t print money; we must live within our means, just like our families do. That’s why fiscal responsibility isn’t optional—it’s essential.
Priorities: Values & Community
If elected, my priorities are clear:
- Disciplined Stewardship —The Commission’s first duty is the budget. We need to live within our means and treat every tax dollar as a trust. That means disciplined budgeting—from routine operations to long‑term bond packages—to assure value and reduce waste. I support close review of funding requests to ensure spending is sustainable, benefits are fair for all county employees, and no long‑term debt moves forward without clear, public, data‑driven justification.
Thoughtful budgets, not rubber stamps. - Responsible Infrastructure Planning: My engineering background equips me to help ensure plans for roads, water systems, and solid waste services keep pace with growth. I favor long‑term, efficient solutions over temporary, stop‑gap fixes.
Building infrastructure that lasts. - Essential Services & Public Safety: A responsible budget must prioritize the core functions of county government. Our Sheriff’s Department, EMS, and fire services must have the resources they need to keep the community safe and respond effectively to emergencies.
Putting safety and essential services first. - Preserving Our Way of Life: Our heritage, natural beauty, and independent spirit are worth protecting. My goal is to help keep Cumberland County a “forever home” for both longtime residents and future generations.
Keeping Cumberland County the place we love.
